Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill will begin the season as the fastest player in Madden 19.
Move over John Ross, there’s a new speedster in town. With EA revealing the full player ratings for Madden 19 this week, it is now confirmed that Kansas City Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill will be the fastest player in this year’s game at launch.
According to EA’s player ratings hub, Hill will boast 98 Speed in Madden 19 at launch along with 97 Acceleration and 98 Agility. He’s basically a human joystick.
Following a solid rookie season in 2016, Hill had a breakout year last year. In 15 games, Hill racked up 75 catches for 1,183 yards (15.8 yards per catch) and 7 touchdowns. With Patrick Mahomes II taking over the reigns at quarterback for the Chiefs next year, Hill will look to improve upon his stats.
Last year’s fastest player in Madden 19 was Cincinnati Bengals rookie WR John Ross who ran a record 4.22 at the NFL Combine. Unfortunately, Ross’ rookie season came to a quick halt as he fumbled his first and only carry of the game against the Houston Texans and was subsequently benched after gaining only 12 rushing yards. He was only active for two of the remaining 10 games in the season last year due to a mix of injury and healthy scratches.
While Hill had a down year, he’s still the second fastest player in Madden 19 with 97 Speed, 95 Acceleration and 83 Agility.
It’s worth noting that while Tyreek Hill will begin the year as Madden 19‘s fastest player, it’s not guaranteed that it’ll stay that way. EA makes weekly changes to player ratings based on the player’s real-life performance on the field. Should Hill seem to lose a step, there’s a chance his speed could be lowered. But for now, he can claim he’s the fastest in the game.
