Rather than wait for E3, Square Enix opted to announce the release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour. Here’s when you can play Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS4 and Xbox One…

It seemed like Square Enix’s E3 press conference would be the time and place, but no. In the early hours of Sunday morning, the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account revealed the release date of the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3: January 29, 2019. Check out the announcement tweet below:

It may seem like an odd time for an announcement, but as it revealed, the release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 was actually revealed ahead of the gaming industry’s biggest event of the year at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour.

At the end of the day though, who cares when the game was announced. The point is we now have an actual release date to look forward to. Kingdom Hearts 3 will release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. We’ll likely get more details and perhaps a trailer during Square’s actual E3 press conference on Monday, June 11, at 1:00 p.m. EST.
