Madden 19 Team Ratings Revealed

Madden 19

The Madden 19 team ratings are here and there are quite a few surprises!

We’re still a few months away from the NFL season kicking off and the release of Madden 19, but as we head into summer and the start of training camp more information about this year’s installment in the annual video game franchise is coming to light. Following some more in-depth details at E3 this past weekend, EA has revealed the team ratings for Madden 19. Check them out below, courtesy of the Sunday Night Football on NBC Instagram account.

Given that the Philadelphia Eagles won last year’s Super Bowl and only improved upon their roster by trading for Seahawks Defensive End Michael Bennett and Panthers Cornerback Daryl Worley. They also replaced Torrey Smith by signing Ravens speedy wide receiver Mike Wallace. With seemingly no reason to drop off from last year’s dominant performance, the Eagles are understandably rated the highest with a 90 overall (the only team to have that).

The drop off from the Eagles is quite substantial as the Patriots come in at second-best with an 84 team overall. The Patriots had a drama-filled offseason with talk about Gronk retiring and Brady’s future with the team, but it appears all will be settled by kickoff.

Perhaps the most overrated team, in my opinion, is the Dallas Cowboys who are somehow the 8th best team in the game. Look, I’m a Cowboys fan and even I admit that’s a bit too high for a team with as many questions and holes as them. Sure, they have one of the best offensive lines in the league, but they lost two key offensive weapons in Jason Witten and Dez Bryant. Sure, Bryant’s production had gone so far down to the point he could no longer be perceived as a legitimate No. 1, but I’m not convinced he can be so easily replaced.

The worst-rated team is the New York Jets. The Jets made a big splash this offseason by drafting rookie QB Sam Darnold, but it doesn’t look like he’ll have much help. They also signed QB Teddy Bridgewater who is coming back from a major leg injury.

Perhaps the most under-rated team in Madden 19 is the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams undoubtedly improved on last year’s roster by acquiring Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Sam Shields, and Ndamukong Suh. How in the world are they only considered the 11th best team with that sort of talent added to an already stellar defense?
